A fleet of more than 20 JCB machines is playing a major role in the latest Alien blockbuster movie which released on Friday last week. Construction equipment like loaders, telescopic handlers and excavators were supplied to 20th Century Fox for the making of the new Alien: Covenant film.
The movie stars Michael Fassbender and Katherine Waterston in the lead role. The JCB machines are wrapped in stunning gold. This was the idea of British film director and producer Ridley Scott who wanted to give them a futuristic look to grab attention.
The story of Alien Covenant is set almost 100 years in the future. This is the sixth Alien franchise film to be made. JCB worldwide marketing director Michael Plummer said: “This is the biggest product placement exercise in JCB’s history and involved more than £1 million worth of machines.”
The featured Loadall telescopic handlers were manufactured at JCB World HQ in Rocester and the JS tracked excavators at JCB Heavy Products in Uttoxeter. The six generators supplied were made at JCB's plant at Hixon, near Stafford.
